The nyu social work was founded in 1960 as a leader in social work education. The school was opened with a different name that was renamed as the silver school of social work in honor of alumni Constance and martin silver that donated the sum of $50 million to the school premises. It is said that this donation was the highest donation paid in the history of USA. The silver school of social work has education partnerships with around 60 public and non-public agencies. The students who get education from this institution, in return perform voluntary work for the school.
